Mintmark — Privacy Policy

Mintmark is a coin collection log with optional AI condition observations. It has no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking. We never sell your data. This page describes the small amount of data the app does handle, and what happens to it.

Mintmark is currently in development. This policy describes the app as designed; if anything material changes before or after launch, the effective date above will change with it.

What stays on your device

Your collection — entries, sets, want lists, condition records, acquisition details, declared values, and private notes — is stored only on your device. Insurance exports (PDF and CSV) are generated on your device. None of this is uploaded. Deleting the app deletes it.

What our server receives

• An anonymous device identifier. On first use of an online feature, the app registers a random identifier (and your platform) with our server. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any account — none of those are ever collected. It exists to enforce free-tier limits and rate limits.
• Photos you submit for scanning. When you scan a coin for identification or a condition read, the photos you chose are uploaded to our server so the assessment can run, along with the result.
• Subscription status. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment and gives us a transaction identifier so we can verify your subscription is active. We never receive your payment details, name, or email.

AI processing

Identifications and condition observations are produced by sending your photos to our AI provider, Anthropic, under its commercial API terms, which do not permit using your photos to train its models. Every AI-generated read in the app is labeled as AI.

Retention

Photos from scans are deleted from our server within 7 days. The server keeps no copy of your collection.

Security

All traffic between the app and our server uses HTTPS, and requests from the app are verified with platform integrity checks (Apple App Attest).

Children

Mintmark is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

Once a coin is in your collection, browsing, organizing, and exporting all work without anything leaving your device — only scanning a new coin uses the network. To request deletion of any data our server holds for your device, contact us at the address below.
